Every project starts with the same question: what is this tag or label actually for, and what will it face once it’s installed? That answer determines material, mounting, and finish — not the other way around.
PANELS & EQUIPMENT
Phenolic Identification Tags
What it is: A laminated plastic tag — typically a colored core (often red, white, or black) faced with a contrasting surface layer. Engraving cuts through the top layer to reveal the core color underneath, giving permanent, high-contrast lettering that won’t fade, peel, or rub off like a printed label.
Choose this when: you need a permanent tag for an electrical panel, disconnect, control, or equipment ID that has to stay legible for years in an industrial environment — dust, occasional moisture, and handling included.
Typical specs: Standard thicknesses 1/16″–1/8″. Common color pairs: black-on-red, white-on-black, black-on-white. Mounting via adhesive backing, screws, or rivets — tell us which your application needs.
CONTROLS
Stainless Steel & Nylon Switch Plates
What it is: A custom-engraved plate that mounts over a switch, breaker, or control device and identifies its function directly on the panel face, instead of relying on a separate label nearby.
Choose this when: you’re organizing a control panel or electrical room where multiple switches need clear, permanent, at-a-glance function labels — common on generator transfer switches, HVAC controls, and breaker panels.
Typical specs: Stainless steel for corrosion resistance and a premium finish; nylon where weight or cost matters more. Cutouts sized to your existing device openings — send the opening dimensions or the plate you’re replacing.
PIPING & FACILITIES
Valve Tags
What it is: A small numbered or lettered tag, usually round or tag-shaped with a mounting hole, attached directly to a valve, damper, or piece of piping to identify it within a numbered facility system.
Choose this when: your facility runs a valve numbering or lockout/tagout program and needs tags that survive years hanging in a mechanical room or outdoors — legible identification matters more than aesthetics here.
Typical specs: Brass or aluminum for durability, or phenolic for lighter-duty indoor use. Sequential numbering or a custom legend schedule — send your numbering list as a spreadsheet, not a description.
EQUIPMENT & SAFETY
Industrial & Reflective Vinyl Labels
What it is: Printed or cut adhesive vinyl for equipment IDs, safety signage, panel labeling, and facility communication. When an approved plan set specifies reflective markings, we can produce engineering-grade reflective vinyl and finish it with a durable protective laminate.
Choose this when: Your plans call for reflective identification, or you need fast-to-apply labels with color graphics and safety symbols. Reflective vinyl improves nighttime and low-light visibility, while the laminate helps protect the printed surface from handling and outdoor exposure.
Typical specs: Engineering-grade reflective or standard industrial vinyl; durable laminated finish available; indoor- or outdoor-rated adhesive; standard or custom-cut sizes. Send the applicable plan detail, dimensions, colors, quantity, and installation surface.
